Strategic location
Colombia has a privileged geographical location. It's positioned near the equator, in the northeast part of South America, and shares borders with Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and Panama. It´s broad coasts in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans (1600 and 1300 kilometers respectively) provide easy access to Europe, the United States, the Caribbean and the Pacific Basin.
The country's geographical location is a linking point between the countries north and south of the hemisphere, and it serves as the gateway to South America, with ports that go to the rest of America, Europe and the countries in the Pacific Basin.
Colombia is near the Panama Canal and it's the stopover of many of the main airlines in the continent. The country's coast ports evidence that Colombia is both a sea and air point of convergence, which facilitates commerce and boosts multilateral relations. The potential of the country's 45 million consumers is substantially increased by these advantages, and opportunities of expansion and establishment of different business sectors is also available.

With an area of 1,141,748 km2, Colombia is the fourth largest country in South America, the seventh in the Americas and 25th in the world. In its vast territory, the country has a variety of climates and ecosystems, which classified it as mega diverse, prestigious title that only five areas in the world have.
