Inflation in Colombia has had a decrease in the past 20 years, due to the efforts of Banco de la República, which has kept it controlled. In the last decade, it has maintained a one-digit tendency, with an average variation of 4.4% during the period between 2003- 2013. In 2013, the health sector was the expenditure group that most contributed to the positive variation in prices, with 4.4 percentage points of inflation over the period´s total (1.94%).
